A Breathtaking View at Naruko-kyo

From mid-October through the start of November, the 100 meters deep gorge formed from the effects of Oya River is covered with a colorful display of fall leaves. The beauty of this fall leaves scenery that is dotted with massive rocks and green pines is said to be first class even among the famous scenic spots within Japan.

Let's see a picturesque autumn at Naruko-kyo

Naruko-kyo is a 100 meters deep, V-shaped gorge formed by erosion from the Oya River. It runs parallel to National Route 47 for 2.5 kilometers, and this entire area is filled with a fall atmosphere from mid-October through the start of November.
Looking down at Naruko-kyo from the top of the cliff, you can lay your eyes upon an extraordinary view of the autumn leaves dotted with massive rocks and green pines. It's no wonder that many consider this place to be a first-rate sightseeing spot!
Local buses run from JR Naruko Onsen station to JR Nakayama Daira Onsen station during the fall leaves period.
