Spring

As spring arrives, a multitude of flowers come into bloom, including plum blossom, cherry blossom, rhododendrons, tulips and wisteria. So many beautiful flowers and the warm breeze make spring the perfect time for sightseeing.

Summer

Surrounded by mountains and the sea, the Chugoku and Shikoku regions are the ideal places to enjoy outdoor activities such as swimming, mountain climbing and camping during summer.

With pure blue skies, glistening sea views, lush greenery and vibrant summer flowers, there are plenty of sightseeing spots that are best enjoyed in the summertime.

Autumn

The heat of summer gradually fades and is replaced by the cooler air of autumn. The highlights of autumn in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions have got to be the beautiful red leaves as well as the delicious seasonal food available there.

There is no better place to witness the dramatic sight of fiery red leaves beneath the autumn sky than in these regions that are blessed with an abundance of mountain greenery.

Winter

The areas along the Sea of Japan experience snow in winter, making them ideal for enjoying winter sports as well as the magical snowscapes. On the other hand, the areas along the Pacific are relatively mild, with the areas along the Seto Inland Sea in particular being extremely comfortable as they get plenty of sunlight.
