Beppu Tennenike is a lake in Yamaguchi prefecture which has been designated Japan's Hundred Great Spring since 1985. Under the sunlight, the waters shimmer in brilliant cobalt-blue. It is said that you live a year longer for every cup of water you drink from the lake. The place is not just a magnet for tourists. Locals on lunch breaks and young couples also go there to relax. If you want to taste the cool, refreshing water (about 14℃), just buy a container for 150 yen and fill it up.
