Biei Senka: A place to enjoy the food and produce of Biei Town

Feb 1, 2019

The town of Biei is famous for its vast patchwork fields and scenic rolling hills, and it has been selected as one of “The Most Beautiful Villages in Japan”. These picturesque fields produce various crops such as wheat, potatoes, and legumes. One unique place where you can enjoy the delicious food and produce of Biei is the Biei Senka main store. This large facility features four distinct shops: the Senka Market, the Senka Factory, the Biei Wheat Factory, and the Asperges Restaurant. At the Senka Market, you can buy the town’s freshly harvested vegetables as well as various seasonings and ingredients. At the Senka Factory, you can buy snacks such as soft-serve ice cream, pudding, cakes, and croquettes, which you can enjoy inside the shop or at the outdoor terrace tables. The Biei Wheat Factory is a bakery that sells freshly baked bread and pastries made from local wheat flour. At the Asperges Restaurant, you can enjoy fine French cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, served as a course meal or a la carte. Biei Senka is truly the place to be if you’re looking to enjoy or take home the flavors of Biei.
