Gokase Town in Miyazaki Prefecture is located in almost the center of Kyushu. Listed as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS), the town is famous for its production of Gokase wine, made from the tasty local water and grapes that have a great balance of sweetness and sourness deriving from the large temperature differential in its production location, 600m above sea level.

Gokase Winery was established in 2005. The wine made from freshly harvested grapes has a pleasingly fruity and fresh taste. The winery has a wine shop and offers tasting and a factory tour on reservation. On its grounds, there is also a restaurant that serves dishes of fresh local products in all-you-can-eat style.
