Food Paradise

Food is always an important factor to plan in an overseas trip. In my last Japan trip, I drawn up a food list. Here to name a few. I was delighted to eat the otoro (fatty tuna) and an all crab meal in Tokyo. In Matsumoto, I tried the famous Kobayashi soba, tasted the apple ice cream with real apple bits (there is a small ice cream shop outside Matsumoto Castle) and the fried karage (outside Matsumoto station). The soba was pretty good only if you do not mind the waiting time. In Aomori, I ate the big apples and sampled the light apple beer at A-Factory, Aomori. In Japan where vending machines are abundant, do try the hot corn soup and red bean soup that are cheap and delicious when the weather is cold. While watching TV programmes one evening, the host was introducing the top three popular food items customers bought at the convenience stores. The number 1 item at 7-Eleven happens to be the cheese onion soup which comes with a small piece of toast. I gave it a big thumb up as it was the best cheese onion soup I have ever tasted.
