Hachiko Statue University of Tokyo

In Shibuya, the statue of Hachiko has become a popular tourist spot. But did you know, there is another statue in Japan of this famous dog?

The story of Hachiko has touched many people around the world. It is about a dog, which faithfully waited every day for over a decade at the Shibuya train station for its master, who passed away. So sad! I really wish Hachiko could see his master one last time.

So I was glad that Hachiko reunited with his master in 2015. Another statue of Hachiko was built on campus of the University of Tokyo – this time, with his master by his side. Hachiko’s master, Professor Ueno, worked at the university before he passed on.

The statue has become a hidden sightseeing spot where many tourists visit. So should you!
