Mariposa is a confectionery shop located at the corner of Niseko-hirafu district, where you can find clusters of condominiums.

Their specialty: muffins and scones – my favorites!

The shop has a red and yellow signboard; a nice contrast to the charming wooden building it’s a part of. I feel that the look is partly why customers are attracted to this place.

The shop’s owners are a friendly couple who will greet you at the door. Once inside, you’ll find an array of baked confectioneries (from 380 yen) at the counter.

The couple’s warm hospitality and the lovely buttery aroma from their home-baked confectioneries create a very homely atmosphere.

Their baked goods are really fresh. If you order the cream puffs (one of their bestsellers), they will only be filled upon your purchase. This keeps the cream puffs crispy on the outside!

Be warned though, there are only about 10 seats inside. Hopefully, you’ll be lucky enough to find a space. If you’re not in a rush, it’s a great place to relax and unwind.

If you can’t find seats, fret not. You can always takeaway – they make amazing gifts for families and friends!
