Marushichi Shotengai Arcade

Ayano

Dec 8, 2016

Want to travel back in time but don’t have a time machine?

Don't worry! Simply visit Marushichi Shotengai, a retro shopping arcade that’ll bring you back to the Showa era (in case you don’t know when that is, it’s from 1926 to 1989).

Get lost exploring the streets and discover the most random of shops – like bakeries, florists, shops that sell milk, and even costume & prop shops. The street has a very different vibe as compared to other shopping areas in Kamakura. Walking through the street just makes me feel like I’m on a movie set.
