Located just an hour away from Tokyo, Meigetsuin Temple is located in the popular Kamakura area. In the annual Tsuyu ("rainy season", also the unofficial 5th season in Japan), hydrangeas bloom in abundance all across the temple ground, making for a beautiful sea of royal blue flowers. The flowers come into full bloom in June - July, making for a perfect trip down in the summer. Be sure to visit the nearby majestic Daibutsu and unique Hasedera Temple too!
