Meiji Mura

Transport yourself back to the Meiji era at Meiji Mura theme park. As its name suggests, the theme of the park is… the Meiji era(1868-1912)!
as its name suggests, is a unique experience based theme park where you can touch and feel Meiji era, by experiencing Japan's oldest steam locomotive, Kyoto tramen", high-color costumes, gourmet and buildings in the Meiji era.

You can take a ride on Japan’s retoro steam locomotive. Outside the park, SL locomotives are in service too. You can also see people dressed in vintage costumes, and you yourself can rent a kimono or hakama to walk around in for about 1,100 yen. Even the buildings look historic – the Imperial Hotel looks like it’s been plucked out of the Meiji era! In my opinion, Meiji Mura theme park is the best place to experience all things Meiji!
