Mikurigaike/Mikurigaike Hot Spring

Miki Furukawa

Nov 9, 2017

Mikurigaike is a volcanic lake that’s synonymous with Murodou. Covered in snow till June, its beautiful deep blue water reflects the surrounding forest and mountains between July and October. The deepest and the largest lake in Murodou, it attracts tourists from all over. After taking in the scenery, be sure to visit the Mikurigaike onsen, a nearby hot spring that’s perfect for relaxing, especially in the cold of winter. With its water from the Jigokudani, which is located at the highest altitude in Japan, this spring is known for chasing away bodily aches and fatigue!
