Probably Nagoya’s signature ‘soul food’, Misokatsu is a must-try if you are a foodie. You should try the one at Yabaton – it’s highly recommended by locals and tourists.

I can say it’s a solid recommendation. When your food lands on your table, Yabaton staff will patiently share with you the right way to savor the misokatsu (about 1,800 yen). Right from the first bite, you’ll be hooked on the deliciously tender and juicy pork. It has an exquisite balance of miso and katsu, and the flavour is neither too heavy nor light. You have to put Yabaton on your food list!

The shop is easy to spot – there’s a sumo-wrestling pig mascot.
