Mt.Takao (climbing up)

Are you afraid you aren’t fit enough to climb a mountain? With Mount Takao, you don’t have to be! There are over 10 mountain trails you can take, with difficulty levels ranging from beginner to advance.

Although you will see many climbers decked in climbing gear and equipment, sneakers are really good enough. On average, it takes about just two hours to reach the top, and one and a half to climb back down.

As you explore the mountain and enjoy its scenery, do also try the local delights like the Tengu yaki (hot cakes filled with sweet red beans, about 150 yen) and Sake manju (a little bun filled with liquor, around 110 yen).

Mount Takao is perfect for a family trip or a romantic date. It’s an attraction that will keep you coming back for more. And if climbing a mountain isn’t your thing, there are cable cars to take you up!
