Mt.Takao (sightseeing)

Just an hour away from the city, Mount Takao is the perfect place to escape the bustle of Tokyo and enjoy nature at its best.

But don’t just take it from me; even the acclaimed Michelin Travel Guide gave the 599-meter-high mountain three stars! It’s really a world-famous spot with over 3 million visitors each year.

What I love about the mountain is its ever-changing ‘expressions’ – or scenery – that looks totally different but equally breathtaking with every changing season.

And if you make the climb to the top of the mountain, you’ll be rewarded by an amazing view of Tokyo and Mount Fuji! There are also many food shops and restaurants that serve delicious Japanese food along the way.

At the end of your visit, you can enjoy hot springs at the base of the mountain to rest your tired legs.

Don’t feel like climbing? Fret not! There is a cable car service at the mountain – that means no excuse not to visit one of the most charming nature spots in Tokyo!
