At the beginning of February, we went to Nikko city to enjoy winter activities.

Actually, we did not know that how near the Nikko from Tokyo. It is located in the north area of Tochigi prefecture and it takes only 2 hours from Tokyo by train.

The purpose of vising Nikko National Park is to seek the best-quality powder snow. It was beginning of the season so snow was pretty good considering time of year. In addition, the day was beautiful balmy day so perfect to enjoy winter activities.

We did not have ski gear and wear but rent all of them at “Swallow-ski shop” nearby Okunikko-ski area. The mountain was not very high which made learning very safe and conducive. Definitely one of the best ski slopes we have ever visited. The insanely fluffy powder snow was awesome for skiing.

After enjoyed skiing, we dropped at “Kyukamura hotel” to use onsen, and relieved the weariness. The onsen color was very unique because it turns to milk white and emerald green in the right sunlight.

Getting dark and dark, we went out to join the event “Snowshoe Night” with Kyukamura hotel staff. Under the starry sky, took a walk 1 hour with snowshoeing. After arrived Lake Yunoko, we had a tea time seeing the full moon and star. A little be chilly weather but had a great time ever.

We want to come back again here in the near future
