I visited Takayama in february 2012, when i was based in Japan, working for a MNC at Kobe. While most would prefer to stay in Kansai area avoiding excessive travel, the trip to Takayama is worth taking. Its a quiet walk in the winter if you ask me to describe it in a sentence.

That year was my first snowy winter, as cold and cloudy the weather can get under you, Takayama to me was a walk to take if you'd like some time alone.
