I love shopping in the Osu shopping district. This shopping arcade, with its 400-year history, is filled with the charm of Japanese culture.
Located just beside Osu Kannon, a Buddhist Temple in Central Nagoya, it is a flourishing entertainment and cultural centre for both locals and tourists. You’ll find over 1,200 businesses, ranging from long-standing establishments to trendy new stores.
Nibble on some rice crackers while you browse the streets, or dig in to local specialties such as fried chicken or one-coin pizza.
If you’re a fan of anime, why not drop by one of the many cosplay shops around? The area has been compared to the Akihabara District in Tokyo because of the shops that specialize in electronics or anime. By the way, this street is the venue of the World Cosplay Summit that’s usually held from the end of July through to early August every year.
