Along with Arima Onsen and Dōgo Onsen, the famous Shirahama Onsen is one of the top three hot spring attractions in Japan. On your drive to the hot spring, the view of the vast Pacific Ocean will definitely take your breath away. When you arrive, you’ll be fascinated by the stark contrast between the Pacific Ocean and the hot spring itself. Imagine looking beyond the rocks in the hot spring to see a cobalt blue ocean! Bathing in Shirahama Onsen feels almost like bathing in the sea, as if the spring has grown to such magnificent scale it gives you a feeling of ultimate luxury.

A quick reminder: it’s a unisex hot bath, so don’t forget your bathing suit! At Shirahama, there are special baths to rest your tired feet, and several public bath tubs for you to try out. So if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable after a long time indoors, or you’ve simply have been craving for a foot bath for some time, simply soothe your body aches with a relaxing soak in these baths.
