Yamato Museum

The Yamato Museum is where you can find a 1/10 scale model of the famous battleship Yamato – the flagship of the Japanese Combined Fleet of World War II. Despite its size, the model was created to be as close to the original as possible; I find it an amazing replica.

During the war, battleship Yamato was thought to be ‘unsinkable’. Imagine the shock the Japanese felt when it sunk!

The museum also houses many other exhibitions and seasonal events, like airplane modelling classes.

Also, if you don’t speak Japanese, use the free audio commentary devices provided at the museum. Enjoy!
