RAIL PASS

JR Kyushu Rail Pass

The JR Kyushu rail pass for shinkansen makes your trip around Kyushu very convenient. The JR Kyushu Rail Pass allows you to get on an off any Shinkansen, Limited Express, Special Express or local trains run by JR Kyushu. There are 2 kinds of passes, one is limited to the North-Kyushu area while the other covers the whole island. Both are available for either a 3-day or 5-day time span.

12:00 Yamauchi Roadside Station “Kurokami no Sato”

13:00 Takeo Onsen Romon Gate

The symbol gate of Takeo Onsen, well known as the “hot spring of beauty.” Its bright vermilion color and the construction uniquely designed and built without using nails will amaze you. A popular photo spot!

13:30 Mifuneyama Rakuen

A Japanese landscape garden nestled at the foot of a mountain 210 meters in height. Various flowers bloom according to the season, creating fantastic scenery year round. About 20,000 azaleas in spring and colored leaves in autumn are must-sees.

15:00 Toyotamahime-jinja Shrine

The deity of water is immortalized in this shrine. The deity of beautiful skin, who is considered to bestow divine favor in this regard, is also enshrined in the precincts. Don't forget to offer prayers for beautiful skin!

15:30 Siebold’s footbath

No admission fee is required. This footbath improves your blood circulation and warms up your entire body. All the signs are in several foreign languages. Communication with local people may also warm your heart.

Dine on a gorgeous local specialty that will melt in your mouth! Yokocho is a well-established restaurant and the birthplace of famous Ureshino local dish “hot spring yudofu (boiled tofu)”. The restaurant is well known, having been introduced on various media and Japanese “gourmet manga”.
