Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is surrounded by rich nature and blessed with clean underground water flowing from the famous Mt. Hakusan. It is also one of the few sake-brewing regions in Japan that is the birthplace of sake rice “Gohyakumangoku”, as well as the origin of one of the representative Toji (sake master brewer) guilds of Japan - the Noto Toji. Of the many breweries in Kanazawa City, Fukumitsuya is the sake brewery with the longest history, founded in 1625. Adhering to the motto of “tradition is innovation continued”, it continues to create new traditions each day while flexibly embracing the changing times without compromising its philosophy. The brewery also owns directly managed stores in Ishikawa and Tokyo. At the Ishikawa store, aside from sampling and purchasing, English guided tours (October to April) are also held and information booklets in English are also available. Aside from sake, you can also find interesting sweets and cosmetics at the store too!
