Don’t miss “Kobe Luminarie”, an event where the light of hope lights up Kobe!
Kobe Luminarie is a brilliant large-scale illumination which is held in the city center of Kobe.
This illumination event began after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in January 1995, as a memorial and rest for the victims. The tradition continued over following decades, and its magnificent illumination has remained an event symbolizing Kobe’s dream and hope.
The 29th Kobe Luminarie will be held from 19th to 28th January 2024 for the first time in four years. If you are exploring Japan in January, this is the perfect place to add to your list!
-Venue: Higashi-Yuenchi Park, Former Foreign Settlement of Kobe and Meriken Park
-Date and Time: 19th to 28th January 2024, After sunset-21:30
-Entrance fee: Free *Tickets is prerequisite to enter only for Meriken Park
