Tofu may look simple, but it's an elegant, essential part of Japanese cuisine dating back to the 8th century. You can appreciate tofu's diversity in a tofu-making workshop taught by an English-speaking tofu expert. Learn the entire process from crushing and boiling the beans, to separating the curd, then sampling your handmade creation - all in a 2-hour lesson held in a historic kura, a traditional Japanese store house featuring heavy walls, thick doors, and ornamental roofs, traditionally used for centuries to preserve rice, soba, sake, and more.
